Contemporary Italian Music for Guitar Quartet
BRIDGE 9401

$ 14.99

The Guitalian Quartet comprises four Italian guitar soloists who have joined forces to present new Italian compositions for guitar quartet. Most of this music has been composed for the Guitalians and presents a wide-ranging view of compositional style in present day Italy. A unifying theme through all the compositions is the use of the medium of guitar quartet as a vehicle for virtuoso display. The members of the Guitalian Quartet are: Guido Fichtner, Claudio Marcotulli, Maurizio Norrito and Stefano Palamidessi.

Reviews:

The Guitalian Quartet plays marvelously. Ensemble is faultless, balance perfect, and their interpretations distinctive and often moving. It’s been a long time since a recording gave me such pure fun as this one.” - American Record Guide

Crisp production values and impeccable engineering technique add clarity and focus to an already well-defined body of work, while the sweetness and purity of the guitar itself is a balm; a summer breeze off the Mediterranean that mingles easily with memory and desire.” - SCENE
