Mozart: Piano Concertos, Vol. 4 K. 503, K. 466
Anne-Marie McDermott, piano
BRIDGE 9562
American pianist Anne-Marie McDermott and Denmark's Odense Symfoniorkester join forces in two of Mozart's greatest masterpieces - the brooding and tempestuous D minor concerto, K. 466, with Beethoven's cadenzas; and the heroic C major, K. 503 with a cadenza by the American composer Chris Rogerson. German maestro Sebastian Lang-Lessing, conducts.
Reviews:
"This is an enthralling and flawlessly poised performance." - International Piano
"There are plenty of recordings of these two concertos available. But McDermott's interpretations provide fresh insights. She manages to balance the voices of the cadenza composers with Mozart's. And makes it all sound logical, coherent, and thrilling. Though these are carefully composed cadenzas, McDermott makes them sound spontaneous. Genius. Another strong addition to this series." — Charlottesville Classical
"For those with a penchant for classical music and piano focused song craft, it just doesn’t get much better than McDermott’s inestimable performance here." — Take Effect
